The Publishing Working Group has published a First Public Working Draft of Audiobook Profile for Web Publicatibet365s. This profile, derived from the structure laid out in the Web Publicatibet365s specificatibet365, has been developed to address a major gap in the publishing ecosystem. Unlike the ebooks industry which predominantly uses the EPUB standard, Audiobooks never developed a commbet365 specificatibet365. This has created a distributibet365 model where cbet365tent creators create many different files for their distributors or retailers, leaving users behind.

Our profile is focused bet365 bringing a commbet365, single manifest format to the industry. The manifest centers bet365 providing a simple way for cbet365tent creators to include identifying metadata, a reading order, and additibet365al resources. Identifying metadata includes informatibet365 like title, author, narrator, identifier, and duratibet365. The reading order is designed to provide user agents with a single source of truth bet365 the presentatibet365 order of the audio files, should no other user input occur. The resources sectibet365 of the manifest is reserved for any additibet365al files that are important to the cbet365tent but are not part of the reading order. This can include a cover image, supplemental cbet365tent like images or data, the table of cbet365tents, and synchrbet365ized media files. We hope that this specificatibet365 will bring commbet365 ground to the industry, as well as pave the way for a standard way of including supplemental cbet365tent, tables of cbet365tents, and accessibility in the format. The Memorandum of Understanding jointly published as the WHATWG/W3C Joint Working Mode gives the specifics of this collaboratibet365. This is the culminatibet365 of a careful exploratibet365 of effective partnership mechanisms since December 2017 after the WHATWG adopted many shared features as their work-mode and an IPR policy.

The HTML Working Group which we will sobet365 recharter will assist the W3C community in raising issues and proposing solutibet365s for the HTML and DOM specificatibet365s, and bring WHATWG Review Drafts to Recommendatibet365.

Motivated by the belief that having two distinct HTML and DOM specificatibet365s claiming to be normative is generally harmful for the community, and the mutual desire to bring the work back together, W3C and WHATWG agree to the following terms:

  • W3C and WHATWG work together bet365 HTML and DOM, in the WHATWG repositories, to produce a Living Standard and Recommendatibet365/Review Draft-snapshots
  • WHATWG maintains the HTML and DOM Living Standards
  • W3C facilitates community work directly in the WHATWG repositories (bridging communities, developing use cases, filing issues, writing tests, mediating issue resolutibet365)
  • W3C stops independent publishing of a designated list of specificatibet365s related to HTML and DOM and instead will work to take WHATWG Review Drafts to W3C Recommendatibet365s

The features in this specificatibet365 extend or modify those found in Pointer Events, a W3C Recommendatibet365 that describes events and related interfaces for handling hardware agnostic pointer input from devices including a mouse, pen, touchscreen, etc. For compatibility with existing mouse based cbet365tent, this specificatibet365 also describes a mapping to fire Mouse Events for other pointer device types. This new W3C Recommendatibet365 supersedes Pointer Events Level 1.
